Americans should promote a community of mutual respect for eachother's rights. This is dictated often in both the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. Though we all will disagree with others use of those rights, those disagreements are matters of discussion not law. This is a republic for one very important reason so the tyranny of the popular will not trample the rights of the few. Americans have long sought in this country to enforce their moral views on others and inversely have their rights be given over to the government because of the views of others.
This is a country founded on freedom, why then are we so eager to take freedom away from ourselves and each other and give it to a government that mismanages it. Next time you hear yourself utter the phrase "the government should do something about this!!!" think of the repercussions of that statement. Whose freedom are you taking away by doing so (most likely it is your own). Every time we have the government do something for us we are taking away our right to choose how and when we do that something.
So please let your neighbor enjoy his freedom as much as you enjoy yours and don't send government agents to his door because his morals are different than yours(as long as he's not hurting or stealing from anyone).

Being peaceful shouldn't even count, that should just be a given. That's like that Chris Rock bit where he talks about people taking credit for stuff they're supposed to do, like NOT being arrested.

Beyond what you're supposed to do, it would be nice if people engaged in charity. Not just dropping coins or bills in Santa's bucket, but charity to their fellow man every day. If you see a homeless person, buy them a meal, or if you had leftovers from eating out give them away. If you see someone walking in the rain, offer a ride.

Something really pissed me off the other day. I was walking down the street one night in a residential city neighborhood, and suddenly I heard a woman crying for help. In the two seconds it took for me to realize what I was hearing, I was already running in her direction. She was about a block and a half from me, and when I found her, I was surprised to find that I was the first to respond... despite the fact that there were people - men and women - in their apartments just staring at her from their windows, which is really easy to spot at night with their lights on. The woman had just been stabbed and mugged, and I really wonder how long it would have taken anyone else to come help. So you ask what Americans can do for each other? Before Americans CAN do anything for each other, they have to stop being so self-absorbed and actually consider that they have a responsibility to help each other.

you can stop voting for Democrats and Republicans. They have not respect for individual freedom or the US Constitution. Try voting someone who actually supports the US Constitution and supports a small, more controllable government.

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure. Thomas Jefferson

The right of a citizen to bear arms, in lawful defense of himself or the State, is absolute. He does not derive it from the State government. It is one of the high powers delegated directly to the citizen, and is excepted out of the general powers of government. A law cannot be passed to infringe upon or impair it, because it is above the law, and independent of the lawmaking power. - US Supreme Court

People can stop using cell phones while they are driving so we don't wipe ourself off the planet and they could start answering these questions without sarcasm. Hey, how about using a turn signal now and then? Oh, and turn in guns. That might help.

exciting question, one which i have meditated because it pertains to Muslim violence of their theocracies. we've all been "warned" by annoyed Christians that we does no longer be saying such-and-such to a Muslim, because the idea is we ought to in all likelihood be murdered. that is named "Fatwa Envy." Christian missionaries presented the Bible to the Africans and intensely lately were meddling in theocratic guidelines in international places like Uganda, assisting their lack of life penalty proposition for gays, etc. i imagine maximum American and different western fundies does indirectly take section in the violence because they're "smooth" themselves and used to secular society. yet i imagine they respect it from afar because they don't surely ought to witness the brutality. ... solarius... are are part of it. you're a decision in the Christian count number, a similar count number the fundies use even as they propose their backwards guidelines.
