i was watching the remastered versions of the star wars trilogy in the box set, and at the end of the return of the jedi, standing next to alec guinness and yoda is anakin skywalker. but is that hayden christensen just added to the new ending or is it a different actor who has always been there at the end - (and they made up hayden christensen in the new films to look like this actor?) because it's been so long since i saw the originals, i can't remember if the three of them were standing there when i first saw it. is there a website with a list of the changes and additions george lucas has made to the original cut?

What you saw is true.
In the special edition of Return of the Jedi, the original actor who portrayed Anakin Skywalker is replaced by Hayden Christensen.
If you watched the other special editions of the Old Trilogy, you'll notice a lot of different things.
Like the voice of Boba Fett is redubbed by Temuera Morrison and Jabba the Hutt makes an appearence in A New Hope.
Here is a site with a list of changes.....

Go down to "1997 Star Wars Trilogy Special Edition" and you will find your list.

Yes, George Lucas replaced actor Sebastian Shaw with Hayden when Star Wars was released to DVD. The new Star Wars Box set will be out in Sept, will be all origianal before Lucas "fixed" things.

Hayden Christiensen was added when the prequels were being filmed. You can hate him all you like, but you realize that the entire story is about him. It's a 6 movie set about his ascent, conversion and redemption. We were all just fooled because we got the second half of the story first. We thought that the film series was about Luke, but it's been about Darth Vader/ Anakin the entire time.

The DVD remakes (remade after Episode II) has replaced the previous actor (seen when luke removes Vader's mask) with Hayden. If you're watching the Video trilogy, they have the original actor.
