Have you watched the Terminator movies, we don't want to give computers too much free will.

In many ways computers already think for us. I feel as long as we can maintain control of computers then the more ability they have to think the easier it would make life for us. I can’t thank of a better way of getting impartial advice on some things that you may have a very hard time making a decision on. A computer would look at it in a strictly practical way and not be influenced by emotions which is the main reason we have hard decisions to make at times. I don’t believe we should be afraid of computers because of silly fictitious movies. We should always have the ability to turn them off. Just as people complain about what’s on TV’s, they seem to forget that they can turn them off. I know computers have improved my life in many ways, especially since because of them my husband has a job he loves. They help me keep organized and if they had the ability to learn they would even make that job easier. Fear is its own worse enemy.

Since I don't believe any have even passed the Turing test, I'm not concerned that I'll have to feel any way about it in my lifetime.
But if they could? I would be ecstatic! A person can spend an entire lifetime gathering information (data) to only come close to solving what later will seem to be a simple science question. Imagine the things we could set our minds to if machines were doing the (mental) scut work!
Would they be satisfied with scut work? Who knows, we've never dealt with machines that had the capacity to understand "satisfied." But I'm an optimist; I believe that between us we'd figure it out. (Sort of in the way we *haven't* figured out the problems between ourselves. YET.)
I mean, really, think about what a good search engine can do for us even now. Damn, what a great time to live! And what a future to dream of!

there is one who created us. we can think but we can not give harm to him(or whatever it is) so, since computers are created by human, we'll always have the ability to destroy them.
