the best relationship starts with friendship so it is understandable for one to feel that way however remember that there are also consequences in exposing your feelings if there is other person in the picture think about there feelings and if not does your Friend feel the same way, he might and not show it find time to talk to him express you feeling and see where the relationship takes you but most importantly follow your heart

Ask him to come over and just talk to him about how you feel. After all he is your best friend and he is going to listen to what you have to say.
