You will need to reformat and reinstall windows. The best option is to use a recovery disk or system restore.
To format your harddrive you will need to get a recovery disc or a Windows CD.
No boot disc is necessary unless you are trying to install Windows 95.
The recovery disc will usually come with your computer, if you dont have one, you will need to call your computer
manufacturing company and order one.
The recovery disc and the windows CD will partition your harddrive and it will wipe out your memory and start from
fresh.

If you still have your Windows installation CD, re-install your operating system. If this is windows XP make sure you select install and NOT repair. Reformat your hardrive, which wipes everthing clean and everything is back to when you first got the PC
Some newer computer dont have installation or "restore CD". Instead there is a partition on your PC which contains the original image. Depending on your PC manugacturer, restoring to your original state is as easy as pressing a key during start up
As always make sure you back up any important files, documents before wiping it

It depends up on what version of windows U have..
*Boot from a windows xp CD,
during installation delete all the partation, then repartation and the windows will ask you to format the drive in NTFS or FAT system.
select NTFS file system, reinstall the windows and your hard disk will have Only windows, and like a new one ... but before doing format , know the hardware drivers ok
Bye Bye

You'd need the Windows CDs and all program CDs (Word, etc.)... and re-install everything. Insert the Windows XP CD, restart the computer, and it will likely load up itself and ask if you wish to install it. All data will be erased, so back up your files and photos on CDs or online first.

You need to put your rescue discs in and follow instructions.its a bit scary, but i do it all the time,as my computer is getting old,and always needs something doing.
You should have a manual with instructions on how to do this though, but save all your important stuff to disc first,as you will lose it all,as it will be put back to factory conditions.Good luck.:)

first back up your hard drive information to a floppy disc so when the time comes you can reboot it and then just start deleting junk to the recycle bin

If you want it to be "totally" cleaned like "when you bought it" then replace the Hard Drive.
