I support gay marriage. I think they should be just as miserable as all the straight married people. Then it won't be called "gay" marriage anymore! I want them to have to split all their stuff up and have to go through the same hard times with divorce that straight people go through. I mean... why should gays have all the fun?

No. What's the point? Unless I'm missing something, every state has cleared all the legal obstacles to private bedroom activities between consenting adults. Why should the government get involved in such contracts?
If someone wants to get two people together and a third conducting a ceremony affirming their forever love, then go to it. Polygamy - as long as it is off the books and there's no force, fraud or child molestation involved? Have at it!
But there are too many bad marriages on the books as it is.
The way our society is operating these days, marriage is making caterers, therapists and divorce lawyers very rich. Why get gay people involved in it, too?

I support gay marriage because I support equal rights for all human beings. As for the passage from Leviticus quoted by T.J.S, here are some other passages from the VERY SAME book. Do you believe these also?

Chapter 19:
"Do not plant your field with two kinds of seed.
"Do not wear clothing woven of two kinds of material.
"Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard.
"Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves.

Chapter 20:
"If a man commits adultery with another man's wife—with the wife of his neighbor—both the adulterer and the adulteress must be put to death.
"If a man lies with a woman during her monthly period and has sexual relations with her, he has exposed the source of her flow, and she has also uncovered it. Both of them must be cut off from their people.

Chapter 25:
"Your male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves. You may also buy some of the temporary residents living among you and members of their clans born in your country, and they will become your property. You can will them to your children as inherited property and can make them slaves for life, but you must not rule over your fellow Israelites ruthlessly.

Do you really think it's also alright to own slaves just because the Bible says so? I'm a Christian too, but I've learned that you can't take everything you read literally.

No, I'd like to see something that defines traditional values remain intact and marriage has always been intended to be between a man and a women...Marriage has a big enough black eye with such a high failure percentage that it doesn't need to be re-structured to include same sex partnerships...That is a whole other life style that should establish their own identity and not one that is associated with traditional values.

gay marriage is between the church and the couple.

civil union between two people is between the state and the couple.

I am fully in support of the state recognizing civil unions between any two people.

a civil union would convey all of the rights that you generally think of in a "Marriage" but it would not be based on a church or a religion.

it would basically come down to all marriages are civil unions, not all civil unions are marriages.

Sure, they have every right to love, why not. It's good for the economy, lets face it, less straight people are getting married. I'm a straight Christian, and see no problem with it. As far as I'm concerned, there is enough hate in this world and anything that is love between two people is alright with me.

Yes, because who the heck really cares about what people do in the bedroom. If gay people choose to marry it does not affect me emotionally, mentally, or physically...so all the power to them.

Yes I do. I know alot of people view it as being wrong but you can't choose who you fall in love with. If someone is with someone and that person makes them happy it doesn't matter what their gender or race or orgin is. It's all about happiness and the bond and love of two people

Leviticus 20:13

"If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.
