Hi, i asked a similer question, but i though i would make it more, abroad. I am an artistic photographer and i want to get my artwork hung in a gallery or museum for modern art, like the MOMA In NYC. People love my shots and think that they are beautiful and should be in a gallery, so i asked myself, why aren't they. Does anyone own an art gallery or know how to get my art work into an art gallery? Any contacts or ideas, other than stapling it to the walls and leaving would be apprecited. Thanks so much.

Well, MOMA is kind of an ambitious place to start. There are lots of small galleries looking for artists. You need to get your work together in a portfolio and start making contacts. There are probably a lot of gallery spaces in your area. Public libraries, art schools or cooperatives, even cafes and restaurants display art.

I owned a contemporary art gallery, and my suggestion would be to make a portfolio of your artwork. Make a professional artist's biography, mission statement, and list a way for each gallery to get a hold of you. You should call each gallery before sending your artwork package to them. Send each gallery a small representation of your work, but create it in such a way that they can not reproduce it themselves. Read up about the industry and protocols in how-to books, and make sure you are knowledgeable and well-stated when you speak to gallery owners and buyers. Good luck.

"we are conscious of this tale and function asked our contacts in extensive-unfold u . s . for greater education. in accordance to nearby animal welfare businesses, the canine replaced into in a state of starvation whilst he replaced into captured from the line for reveal interior the show. we've additionally been recommended that the canine spent sooner or later interior the show and later escaped the gallery. we don't condone the movements of this so-talked approximately as "artist," and condemn using stay animals in shows alongside with this. An animal welfare business enterprise in Honduras, the place the subsequent paintings practice would be held, is preserving close watch on the case and assures us that the artist won't repeat his objectionable show." on condition that, i do no longer think of this petition is mandatory. The Humane Society knows and in touch, and making specific that in spite of he does on the BCH 2008 won't contain animal cruelty. If he actual did reason the canine to starve to dying, that could desire to be unlawful, and is disgusting. yet as an artist, i do no longer desire to stay away from him from springing up different (non-cruel) artworks interior the destiny. as properly... "Animal fanatics and rights activists have claimed that the canine died from starvation after the practice, yet Juanita Bermudez, director of the gallery, insists that Natividad replaced into untied in any respect cases different than for the three hours the exhibition lasted, replaced into usually fed via the artist, and escaped after an afternoon. Vargas stated that the piece meant to aim the common public and that not one of the exhibition's travelers intervened to help the animal." i'm getting the impression that folk may be freaking out over rumors extremely than fact.

Copy the stuff to disk, email it, send prints, distribute it any way possible.

Go to parties, openings, if you can schmooze, politic and gladhand, do it, make connections. Get yourself known.

The art world is half politics and half talent and maybe more politics.

If you get into the MOMA, please remember me.
