How do I convince my Mom that I need a cell phone?

My Mom won't let me get a cell phone because she says i don't need one. How do I convince her I do.

go to the mall or some place and get lost on purpose. Then after she spends 2 hours looking for u. Find her and tell her that if u had a cell u could have called each other...haha <

Get in frequent situations where she needs to get ahold of you but you're at a park or someplace where she only would be able to reach you with a cell-phone. Then when she hells at you just appologize and say "if I had a cell phone you could have called me."

Come on now, didn't you read the handbook on getting what you want from your parents? I thought kids were born with it :-P

Convince her of the benefits that cell phone would do for her - she'd be able to contact you at any time, know where you are, if you are ok, and tell her how useful it is in case of an emergency. And, it's all true

You don't need a phone. No kid needs a cell phone. If you want to get a hold of your parents, get that Migo phone from Verizon that allows you to call only two numbers, Mom and Dad!

I guess a lot depends on how old you are. I would say that you need one for safety reasons. When you are away from home - shopping, hanging out with friends, on a date or whatever, you can reach your parents or someone if you need help or if you are running late. You can also just check in with your parents and let them know where you are and that you are o.k.

You might try offering to pay for half of the monthly fee. That might help. Good luck.

First - How old are you? Why do you feel you need one? If you have a valid reason and are a responsible person, then maybe you can make a case for it with your mom.
