dwh is wrong. "the train" (bart) goes no where near the warf. everyone here is missing your question. you are not asking what is the cheapest route, you are asking if it is easy to share a ride. the second curb at the oakland airport is reserved for taxis and shuttle vans. there is an airport employee there (sometimes in his little yellow shelter or next to the curb) tell him you want to go to the Warf in San Francisco in a shuttle van. He will pair you up with others that want to go to the city too. I paid $20 for this two weeks ago. Sometimes your the first stop, sometimes you are the last stop, but it is extremely efficient (the bus to the 3rd most dangerous bart/train station in the bay area then a street car to the warf would take you half a day). I've always had great conversations with the other riders.

I agree with others, there's a short bus ride to Bart right outside the terminal for like $2 to $3, get off at Embarcadero and catch a cab there it'll be $10 instead of $50 and it's faster. You can also take the F Line to the wharf for $1.50 but with luggage and such a cab would be easier.

I'm sure it can be done fairly easily. But unless you've got some ungodly amount of luggage in tow, why would you want to? Local transit gets you there very easily...
Take the AirBART bus from Oakland Airport to Colosseum BART. Then take BART to Powell Street Station in the City. From there you can take a Cable Car to the Wharf.

I don't remember seeing a lot of people sharing cabs, but there are plenty of shuttles that could probably get you there or pretty close. It wouldn't be hard to use public transit to get there, take the Airbart bus to Bart (metro), take bart to embarcadero station in San Francisco, then take the F street car to the wharf.

Take BART instead. It's quite a bit cheaper and safe. Probably faster too.
