I'm 19 weeks pregnant, and I fell over as I was getting out of the bath tonight. It was a very hard hit to my bottom. I called my doctor, and he said as long as I am not having any pains, bleeding or discharge that I should be fine. I was wondering if anybody can find me some more information to calm my nerves?

Babies really are cushioned from the outside world in there! Unless you've fallen onto your stomach, the chances are slim that anything's worng. Any pain bleeding or discharge should be looked at immediately, but if you feel okay (although shaken) try to relax. If you are feeling the babies movements, you can also keep track of them (at least ten per hour), but at this point, it's just that fluttery feeling...so I agree with the doctor, just relax and try not to worry

Especially if you fell on your bottom, there is really nothing to worry about. You have padding down there to protect the baby. I also fell once when I was about 3 or 4 months pregnant and landed on my stomach and breasts. (yes, I landed on my breasts, it was a set of stairs) Don't start freaking out too much about it, mama, doing that could make you think you are having pains and stress is not good for the baby. Relax, get something yummy to eat, and you'll be fine!

Be calm. Listen to your dr. You should be feeling the baby move by this stage of pregnancy, make sure that you still feel him/her move around in there. If you are concerned something may be wrong go ahead and go in to the ER or Dr. It is better to be safe than sorry. Good luck and have you in my prayers.

If it were me I'd go to get a check up that truly will be the only thing to calm you, the research that I've done on this subject says call your doc or go to the ER, but I would just go ahead and go

Trust your doctor, and don't worry!
I fell down 10 stairs at 26 weeks, and my baby is fine! It always helps to land on your bum...

I was about 7 months pregnant with my youngest, walked out in to the carport, and slipped, fell on my backside...The doctor had me go to the hospital and they gave me an ultrasound just to make sure eveyrthing was okay---which it was....Just listen to your body...ANY aches, pains or bleeding and get yourself to the ER---PRONTO!

Your doctor is correct. I was in a car accident when I was preg. Unless you have a health problem your baby should be able to withstand some jostling.
