I don't! I'm used to them! I like them! Give me your honest opinion. Do they look dumb on a girl?

Well coming as an opinion from a man, I think skirts of any lenght are nice, but they should have some slit to show off part of the legs as you walk, give leave a bit more to the imagination of the woman....the intrigue..

What does look dumb is ladies wearing longer skirt to the ankles with heels and then find they are wearing the little knee high panty hose...that is dumb.

I personally have 2 preferences on this look:

1) The "broomstick" style (that 70s hippie kind that you wash, twist and let air dry so it looks crinkled) worn with beaded flats and a tank top with layers of wood beads. Don't overdo it on the makeup - go au natural with a bit of mascara and a earthtone lip gloss.

2) The straight long skirt with a HIGH side slit (like 3-4 inches above the knee) and a batwing or trumpet sleeve blouse that is fitted at the waist. The balance of the fitted and the loose it what gives it edge and keeps it looking young.

It's not a "religious" look - it's a preferenced style. I've seen floor length skirts going down the runway for spring and fall 2006. If designers like Carolina hererra, Marc Jacobs and Versace can do it - you can too! Style it right and TRUST ME - it will look far from frumpy. It'll look sexy and hot!

Best of luck!

If the look suits you, go with it. Ever seen those hippie-style cotton tie-and-dye flared skirts? Team one with an Indian-type embroidered top, and walk gracefully. This looks great on most people, and makes your legs look longer.
Long skirts don't seem to work on people who are blatantly angular, but otherwise, it's okay.

If it looks good, I don't mind. The peasant/hippie-type of skirts are cute sometimes. But I HATE those denim, long-*** skirts that tend to be all the rage with some religious women.

If the skirt is one of those long indian looking ones yes, but those pentocastal skirts no,

It depends on the skirt but I usually don't like them, I wear mini or knee length

I'm a guy and personally, I like this look, particularly if it is a pleated skirt in a western, type style.

It depends on the skirt, if they are flowy then they are cute, but the ones that are tighter fitting are not flattering on younger people.
