The one secular truth that Americans should embrace is that it is not only right to strive for financial independence, but that it is immoral not to. Whereever there is a lack of responsibility, there you will find government. Our society was founded upon the principles of classical liberalism - limited government and maximized personal responsibilities.

Americans have always embraced individualism.
Initially it was for survival...now it seems to be our downfall.
Maybe it should be community?
