simple you have not edited the audio alerts to your personal preferences.
with yahoo messenger open; click "messenger"
scroll to preferences and left click on it
now click Alerts and Sounds
now in the table to the right; either turn all ALERT SOUNDS (LEAVE THE TICK IN THE BOX AT THE TOP OF THE SCREEN
to turn all alert sounds off left click on the tick to clear the box.

if you want to have only some sounds on then go through each option in turn left clicking on the description then selecting the alert type that suits your needs from the tick boxes under the description list.

good luck i hope that this helps.

Go to your messenger and go to your preferences. On the left, go to Sounds and Alerts. Make sure you turned it off and its set so that it doesnt do that when your window is opened.

I think its just your sound settings.

Go to Preferences and change your setting the Sounds and Alerts to off. That should solve your problem. I know how annoying that can be.
