Is it just me, or do you look at someone's Avatar pict and think, "Damn, she's pretty hot!"...and then realize it is just a cartoon?

;) Myself, I suspect I will not be *attracting* ANYONE in THAT way...unless attracting those interested in locating parties that are a bit on the COLD side! LOL
I personally believe what makes the BEST avatar is when the individual achieves a fairly-good in-depth self-portrait: I honestly worked HARD to CHOOSE the best options where mine WOULD be! :D
[I am honestly even MORE blue in my DL pic.]
Mine turned out to be an internal self-portrait combined with an external one--it looks like the sum of my self: philosophical, medical, all components considered, an image of the inadequately-breathing dead, a way of being honest with myself in regard to my overall health picture, a coping mechanism in its way.
I think overall the avatar system is fun, light-hearted, and I actually appreciate the somewhat entertaining way to express my more macabre reality. ;)
I mean, where else can you find such a *cute* way to visually express that I have lost my ever-lovin' mind than that pic showing me there holding my head after it's gone and rolled off? ;)
I also appreciate that it gives ALL users the chance to sort through what they value, how they perceive themselves, how they wish to appear vs how they DO actually appear...what they hope to see in the mirror vs reality...whether they like ALL their components...whether they like THEMSELVES...key factors brought to light by your excellent question--THANKS! :D

The cartoon pictures don't do it for me. Every once in a while a real photo that is being used has impressed me, the rub is you really don't know if that's a true representation of the person. They could be a devil or an angel and I'll just never know. So that Jessica Rabbit, would she qualify for hot by what your saying here dude? I'm not mocking you, I'm just curious. A couple of my nephews told me that Japanese cartoon pornography is all the rage on the net now, is this something like that? I'm not judging, but I don't get it myself; that's all. Well anyway take care and good luck whatever you do.

Absolutely not. What I have found interesting by looking at the Avatars is, however, that most of the people who ask questions have an avatar that shows a dark skinned person... black or brown... and I'm not sure what that means... I think that might be the better question to ask than the one about being attracted to the picture itself.

I always wonder how accurate the avatar is as far as actually representing the person behind it. Yours, for example...your avatar is cute, so are you cute? Or are you like 55, fat and bald? :)

Huh...anybody has diverse flavor i wager. there is not any such difficulty as undesirable flavor, human beings in simple terms say that beacuse they imagine solid flavor ought to be what they imagine is warm. this is okay, i imagine anime charatcers are warm. :D And convinced, I surely were fascinated in avatars formerly. LOL
