As a parent I want the best for my child. If my child has a friend that I feel has traits opposite to our family values I could either disapprove of the friend or if necessary not allow my child to be friends with that person.

My son and duaghter are obligated to follow my direction as long as they live in my house, wear the clothes I provide, drive the car I let them use and eat the food I pruchase. They understand that my rules are established for their own good.

Both my son and daughter know that if they don't like the rules of the house, they can leave with my blessing. Although many kids (especially teenagers) think their parents don't have a clue, the opposite is really true. You're parents are more wise than you can imagine.

Many of your parents believe in moral absolutes. Things are either right or wrong. Today's world likes to live in moral relativism where what might be wrong for me may be right for you. Bottom line, you should honor and obey your parents or move out.

That what the real world is about.

It's not likely. Parents are set in their ways to want the best for there children and always protect them. Maybe until this friend proves otherwise.

Maybe your friend should give your parents an in-person apology for the mistake.
