Reboot in safe mode by tapping f8 when your pc starts to reload. go to control panel and Display/Settings/ Use the screen resolution slide bar, my win xp is set by default at 1024x768. Or use the trouble shooter to help you adjust the correct or default screen resolution, hope this helps..

Reboot in safe mode by pressing and holding the F8 button before windows begins loading. Then change the settings and restart normally. Fix to the proper video setting and don't try setting too high again.

Never open the case for trivial things like this. If you purchased your system this will void your warranty.

Just reboot in safe mode or enabled vga mode and lower it back down. Pretty much what everyone else has said.
