The incident is inexcusable and is a bad example to all the young fans who worship Zidane as a football god. What ever Materazzi might have said, Zidane should never have reacted with such vigour. But, this sour exchange should not dampen, or over shadow the fact that Zidane was the best player in the World Cup and should have been credited as the best.

Well being that they were exchanging words all throughout the match and that Zidane is known to have a temper it was inevitable to happen. Zidane is the captain of his team and as captain should have set a better example. He shouldn't have lost his composure in the final minute of the CHAMPIONSHIP. What a way to go out. Instead of being remembered for the magic he produced this W.C. and what possibily could have been his win, he will now be remembered for this. What's even more funny is the fact that after that he won the award for best player of the tournament. *sigh* I love this game as of the end of July 9th only 1431 days until 2010.

I think it was wrong, where is the sportsmanship, no matter what was said, he shouldn't have done it. He also didn't think about being thrown out of the game, did he? He put his team in danger of losing, which they did. And he could have seriously hurt the guy! So, I think that it was wrong of him to do it, and very stupid to.

first of all you should ask if he's WRONG or RIGHT.. because we all know he's white.. anyways there's no being right in doing such a thing, if he was right he wouldn't have gotten the red card.. and there's already 5 trillion topics on this..
