Yes, he's done a great job in his charitable work; he's probably more than any celebrity has ever done. I had NO idea there was ANY hate for Bono, I was completely shocked. There are a lot of jealous people here, jealous of his money. Yes, he has money but he's worked ******* hard for it. He deserves it. He gives much of it away and in his free time, tries to save people's lives. What's so horrible about that?

He's selfish (addressing a previous post)? I don't see how. He doesn't have to do this charity work tirelessly and on his free time. He could be laying in the sun at home in his pool but he's choosing not to.

Jealousy.. I'm telling you. I swear I can't believe some of the knuckleheads on Yahoo! Answers....

I dont hate Bongo, Id just like to see him put his money where his mouth is. Why is it that these celebrities think it is OK to solve the worlds problems out of the wallets of the little guy, while they own mansions around the world, and have an ultra exclusive lifestyle that most of us could only dream of? If he was to give away 95% of his wealth (which would leave him with way more than most people will ever have) and donate 95% of his earnings to the cause- that would be leading by example, and I would say he was a Saint. But as long as he continues to yell at the rest of us to donate money to the cause, while he lives in the lap of luxury, he just looks like a big hippocrite to me.

I'm sure if you did some research you would find that Bono is extremely generous with his time and money as are many other celebrities. For example, Bill Gates!

I don't think that they hate him, they simply realize that he's a selfish, self-promoting egotistical putz, thus they're totally disgusted by his arrogance, but he does deserve thanks for his generosity.
