*It depends on lots of factors! Celebs do play a major role in getting publicity. But they do need to have minimum knowledge about the sport. So if u get a movie star in your show & if he has no clue about the sport, the show is definitely better of without him!
* But people like to get expert opinions & bringing in former players & familiar faces in the sport really helps the show
* A lot depends on the host, his info on the topic & the way he handles the language. A simple example, people would prefer Harsha Bhogle over Charu Sharma or Sanjay Manjarekar!
* With technology on your side, sports shows can include more stats & graphs! It’s a package & lot depends on how they present it! That refers to quality & professional approach!
*Latest updates are always welcomed. So a live show is useful as long as they can maintain quality!
* Also people would like to hear from stars. So frequent interviews & talks can be helpful!
* A sport show in a regular sports channel might get more noticed. People do know where to search! Also such channels have all the data & crew to back the show!
* Hmm.. Prize incentive LOL- U can fool few with those, not everyone. But a dinner with Dravid or Tendulkar might get more response than a colour TV offer!
But finally, It’s quality that matters!!

Tv sports shows are inspiered by the viewers and the people involved in the show. If the host presents it in a bad manner then there will be no viewers to make it a succes. But If the host of the show is good then the show will be famous and the host will automatically become a celeb. example mandira bedi.

I think it depends on how well the host presents it.
The host need not be a celeb.
If the host continues to present the shows well, he or she will soon become a celeb.
