You certainly don't have to have a degree for a desk job/receptionist position. Two suggestions are to go to your local temp agencies and apply (they usually have you take a typing test and interview you to get a feel for your skill level); and take note of local small businesses, like doctor's offices. Talk to your friends and family. There are lots of jobs available that are not necessarily posted on websites or in the paper. Sometimes it's just who you know. Best of luck to you!

A secretary does not need a degree....You may need some experience in multi task, but not a degree.

Look for a job where they say no experience necessary. Sometimes you can find a place to train you for most of what they need done, as long as you can type reasonably well and answer the phone in a pleasant voice.

You don't necessarily need a degree. Computer proficiency is a must though. Just learn MS Word and Excel. Powerpoint and Access would be a plus also.

Usually you don't need a college degree...just typing ability, organizational skills, etc.
