Yeah, why do we do that?
I am lucky I like my job and the atmosphere is very free so you don't have to pretend that you are working. As a consequence I get a lot more done.
I used to have a job where you had to pretend and I accomplished jack squat most days. In fact I got so good at pretending that once my boss asked if he could help me as I was obviously so busy!

Done no work at all! Been pretending to be busy! Here in Dubai they work a 10 hour day! 8-6pm! Slave drivers man! Been ducking the boss all day! Keep up the no-work day that side of the planet!

I did some work but my company is undergoing a restructuring and nobody's told me whether I'm getting 1 of 2 jobs. One job is better than my current one and one is WAY worse.
It would be nice to know. Until I do, I don't have the motivation.
PS - Everyone else knows THEIR new job!!

I used to pretend to work, and now if I pretend, the house turns into a disaster zone. Oh how I miss the office....

yup i will be done @ 2 though! but i don't need to pretend just work when it comes to me!(is it worth waking up at 5 am to be at work at 6?)
