One point to consider: There was radio communication with the astronauts on the moon. The direction these communications were coming from could be tracked by most anyone with the right equipment, including the Russians. Had we been lying they would likely have been all kinds of happy to show us up! After all, they were trying to beat us there.

Yes the Americans landed on the moon in the 60's. Niel Armstrong was the first to get out of the pod and take the first step. It happened in 1969. Somewhere I have newspaper articles.

Yes we did as others have pointed out, If we had only done it two or three time I would say maybe, But American interest in the project had pretty much fallen to Nil by the time Apollo 13 rolled around (which as you may know didn't land on the moon due to a mechanical problem), But it would have been a little much to have faked it 6 times.

Of course..I saw it on TV. Richard Milhouse Nixon could not have been in 2 places at once..I'm kidding,kiddo..actually ,it was the Australians,not as officially known as Austrians back then. History is history...I don't think this is one can be distorted for as long as it has. During the 60's....?
