Hmmm.. Those with a cynical point of view might note that extra time was coming to an end, zizou is a good penalty taker and what better way to demoralise the french team than by provoking the captain into getting sent off? The only question in my mind is was Materazzi bright enough to think of that himself or was he just following orders?

Because the matarazzi deserved it-typical italian making the trouble and then crying fowl-the italians were all dirty players in the final , who continually cheated, by injuring the french team. The referee was also very biased, and I believe that as a result of the italians racial slurs to zidane, the world cup should be stripped from the cheating italians, and a rematch should be organised. If zidane hadn't been sent off, then he would have scored during the penalties and france would be the true and deserved champions-vive la france pour toujours.

Rumors say that Materazzi called Zizou something about being a terrorist, referring to his Algerian roots and every one of us knows what kind of player is Zidane (non-tempered). The Italian is a scum that should never be allowed to play football professionally because of racial abuse…

During the game Materazzi happened to grab Zidane's arm to prevent him from taking the ball and the latter said: "Do you want my T-shirt? I'll give it to you after the end of the game" and Materazzi replied "I will scr** your mother wearing it as world champion". Bottom line, it was Zidane who provoked Materazzi; not the other way around.

The french players said that Matterazi called Zidane's mother a whore. She was sent to the hospital before the finals and was very sick. Zidane was emotional and reacted stupidly. All the more reason they dont deserve to be WORLD CUP CHAMPS. FORZA AZZURRI!!!!!!

´cause hi´s a monster...he lost his star and now everything he says or do will be always criticated a lot.He finished his carrer with no glory!

because of a comment about Ziddanes mixed raced background, he is part Algerian, so matarzi referred to him as a "terrorist" or something to that effect. To be honest I have little sympathy with the greecy little Italian, if your gonna headbutt someone you might as well get them properly, he'll get in the same trouble either way.
