It wasn't tolerance. It was lack of choice.

Are you saying that divorce, suicide and murders happen because of women?

Sorry, this isn't the 1800's and women are not the ones out there committing the majority of the crimes. In fact, statistically, women and children are usually still on the victim end of things.

I don't know where you've been taught the troubles of the world should fall on the shoulders of women but if I were you, I'd start attending a new place of education.

Maybe we put up with things in the past because we knew we had no power to change them. It was the late 1800's before married women were even permitted to own property themselves. Also, the only domain a woman had was her home--she couldn't chance losing it. Most divorced women were looked down on, even until the 1960's and 1970's, and they usually lost custody of their children. Would you rock the boat if these were going to be the consequences?

divorce is more common because in the past women were not able to divorce - partly because of the negative stigma and partly because they couldnt survive on their own (financially)
murders and suicides are up not because a loss of tolerance but because of increases in stress in our daily lives - as the population grows stresses increase - studies were done on rats, rats living in undercrowded situations were fine - rats living in overcrowded situations, similar to the current over crowding on earth, were far more competitive with each other and would attack and kill each other.
suicides are up because people are seeing how little hope for improvement in the world there really is

Oh, why is it the women's fault? I think both men and women lost their tolerance. Back then men didn't cheat on women either, which I think was a major factor in the tolerance. Men supported women, women supported men. Nowadays men aren't all that trustworthy, and consequently, women aren't either.

Why should they? Women had no rights back in the 'olden' days.
