I assume you mean you are on the 16th day of your menstrual *cycle*...
Cervical fluid that is wet, clear, and stretchy indicates that you are approaching ovulation. *Now* is the time to have sex if you want to conceive. This type of fluid can last up to 4 days. The last day is your most fertile.
From the end of menstruation to just before ovulationg, your cervical fluid becomes gradually wetter. As soon as you have ovulated (when it's *too late* to conceive), it changes quickly back to an infertile type of fluid--either almost dry or sticky for most women.
It would be a good idea to check your BBT at the same time. The BBT will confirm that you actually *did* ovulate by rising a few tenths of a degree.
And, just one more point... Please don't use derogatory terms that men have given to women's bodies and functions. The cervical *fluid* is produced to keep sperm alive until they can reach and fertilize an egg. It plays an important role in reproduction; it is *not* a bodily waste.
For more details on all of the above, please read _Taking Charge of Your Fertility_ by Toni Weschler. She is an expert on fertility, and the book is very easy to read and complete.
I hope this helps!!

Some women don't have regular schedules of ovulation. If your menstrual cycle is lasting 16 days, I'd see a Doctor about it. It's possible that you might need a D&C, which is dialation and curattage. They put you under for this proceedure, and you will bleed for a short time afterwards, and he might put you on a type of birth control which will shorten your periods. If you keep track of your tempature everday several times a day, whill you are not having a period, this indicates possible ovulation, and you might be able to conceive during that period of time. No garuntees however. If all you are having is discharge, which you have indicated, this is not part of your menstral cycle. Ovualation is also called PMS. That is also considered your ovulation cycle.

I'm assuming you mean you're on Day 16 of your cycle and not of your period. That would be a long period!
The thick mucous that resembles egg white is the "more fertile" mucous which means you are either ovulating right now or just did. Either way, you are in an optimum time to conceive right now. Tracking your temperaures alongside mucous is an added assurance when tracking your fertility.

When menstruation ends, a woman's cervical fluid is either dry or sticky for a few days. It then starts to get wetter and wetter as she approaches ovulation. She will usually start developing a sticky quality that evolves into creamy before the most fertile quality on the continuum, a slippery and often stretchy cervical fluid that resembles raw egg white.
The build up to this wet quality cervical fluid is usually gradual and takes up to about a week or more to reach its most fertile, pre-ovulatory quality. As soon as the egg is released, the cervical fluid tends to dry up very quickly.

Charting basal body temperature is the best way to determine ovulation but a woman's body also gives signals when she is ovulating. The position of your cervix and the cervical mucous you produce changes throughout your menstrual cycle. Therefore, charting the amount and texture of your cervical mucous as well as the position of your cervix can help you pinpoint ovulation.

Nobody can tell you what your body does when you ovulate. An egg white discharge could be ovulation or just some of your regular discharge with some of your husband's leftovers. I have found that the ovulation tests work very well though.

If it looks like raw egg white..then you have not ovulated yet. Once you ovulate it becomes thick and white
