Hi:
The only way this could happen is if your counting in the binary system or base 2 here why:
16,8,4,2,1 are the place placeholder in the binary system
00001 = 1 decimal because 1 is in the one place
00010 = 2 decimal because 1 is in the two's place
00011 = 3 decimal because 1 in the two's places and 1 in the ones place and 2+1 = 3 decimal or 11 binary equals three
01001 = 9 decimal. you do the math.

BTW, no 1+1 never = 3. This is mathematics. There are certain truths that can not be broken and still be considered sane. The principles of addition are one of those.

If you are reporting numbers to the nearest whole digit, but you are adding:
1.4 + 1.4 = 2.8
this could be rewritten as
1 + 1 = 3
However, this is really cheating. You can get it to work in Excel by displaying only the whole digit, but in experiments and such if you are reporting only to the nearest whole number, you are saying that any information down there is just garbage and it should be removed.

1=1
sqrt(1)=sqrt(1) --- 1=1, -1 = -1, -1=1, 1=-1
1+-1=1+1
0=2

let;s take
a=b=1
now take
a=b
square both the sides
a2=b2
now substract b2 frm both sides..
a2-b2=0..................................................(1)
and also a-b=0.........................................(2)
frm eqn 1 &2
a2-b2=a-b
(a-b)(a+b)=a-b
cancel out (a-b) frm both side
so
a+b=0
add 1 to each side
a+b+1=1
put a=b=1.........
so 3=1....cracked...bt its wrong guess .....? i know the fault....
