the soul is everything BUT the physical part of a person
my friend, you should know that your soul only lives if the circulation of blood throughout the body is fine! (that's the medical part)

In my opinion, "soul" is not a medical term therefore it has not medical definition - look it up in a scientific dictionary and you will not find it.
Spiritually speaking, the soul is the ultimate internal principle by which we think, feel, and will, and by which our bodies are animated. That means that all our human activities proceed from a principle which can exist ON ITS OWN.
This principle is immortal and exists forever after the body decays. If we believe in life after death, then certainly there must be a an agent which is capable of existence outside the body.
This is something science cannot prove or look at under a microscope.

Actually, this looks like the definition of the soul from the Old Testament: in the old Jewish tradition soul was the element making your body alive, given by the God to all creatures (that is why some Jehowa Withesses wouldn't take another person's blood, even if they really needed too).

The soul is the Mind, will and emotions.
I don't think medical science can identify all of that as simply blood circulation.
The spirit, which is what is commonly refered to as the soul, is the living part of you that can commune with God, and/or the darker spirits out there.
Even then, science falls short in describing it.

I don;t know if that is truly the medical definition of "soul," but it is not what soul is in actuality. Soul is the spirit + body. Body without spirit is nothing. Spirit without body is a limited growth experience. Together, body and spirit, having earth experience, learning and growing is "soul", and gaining a soul is the purpose of earth life.

Well, sometimes medicine and doctors can't describe everything. A soul is living part of a person, but you can't see it. It is the very nature and essence of what makes a person a person.
