I am an only child too and I like some lone time definitely.
But if you are feeling lonely, it may mean that you miss company and are depressed during your lone time.

When you start talking to yourself.No,Im only joking.I was an only child,plus my mum worked away a lot,I had no dad,so got dumped off at my grans.I feel now as an adult that I have missed out all my life.plus it sickens me that I have not got a sister or brother to call on.For years I had nobody,felt very isolated growing up.But like you I do enjoy my own company,it doesnt bother me being on my own.I have got used to it.sure now,I have my kids and my partner.It would be nice to have siblings.I feel I would not be so self contained as a person.Deep eh?
