There have been calls for Condi to run for presidency, but lets face it can someone single ever get elected as president. Marriage is a big responsibility and Challenge and i feel those who are single or who have been divorced don't have a business trying to rule a nation

Americans would have a hard time electing a single black woman to be President. But the gender and race would be much more of a factor than the fact that she is single. Although most would probably be scared that she was a lesbian.

As far as your comment about single and divorced people having no business trying to rule a nation.......Single people may be more successful because they may not have the stress of doing their job and working on a relationship. Divorce is not always someones choice. If your spouse cheats on you and steals all the joint finances, how does this make you a less able person?

There's no law that says the President of the United States must be married. The only rules that apply are: (1) He/She must be an American citizen, obviously, and (2) He/She must be at least 35 years of age.

P.S.: I believe we will have a woman President one day, but it won't be The ***** (Hillary Rodham Clinton, and yes, she has attained proper noun status -- she is THE *****). Rumor has it Condolezza Rice is being groomed to run in 2008...

Legally a single woman can become president, but whether the public will vote for her or not is another matter

Don't be so prejudice! A single, smart woman, like Condolezza Rice, is a candidate that in unencumbered and can devote her entire attention to the well-being of our nation.

If not that, think of the other female alternative..HILLARY CLINTON. Just say NO!

Do some research - we've had single male presidents before. Your logic is laughable.
