To remove the bulb?
To put the new one in?
Why?

A different person must be used for each of the above.

Also, whose lightbulb is it?

Anyone who treats one party better than the other will automatically be excluded from consideration from getting best answer. You can be nice to both parties or dump on them, but you must be even-handed.

Republican to remove the bulb, who cares if its in a thousand peices

Democrat to replace the bulb, it may take a month to get done but it will get done. eventually

The lightbulb comes from the poor, the wealthy are exempt from lightbulb donation because they own the lightbulb company. They charge the poor people three times the normal cost though.

Either will do the job it's just a matter of how it would get done.

Democrat would discuss the problem endlessly and decide that a committee must be set up to define solutions.

Republican would hire a consulting firm to define the problem.

Democrats would decide it's a union job, and overpay a group of specialists to remove the bulb

Republican would hire a contractor (the one that just happened to donate $100,000 to campaign) and pay the cost overruns as the cost of doing business.

Democrats would deem the light bulb an energy hog and do an environmental impact report, to decide which would be the most energy efficient bulb.

Republicans would do a cost analysis of light bulbs and design a new brighter one.

Democrats would fight over which bulb is the most energy efficient and decide to do a new environmental cost study.

Republicans would hire a new consultant to find out why the new brighter bulb is burning out every 12 hours.

Democrats would install the new bulb, total cost $450,000

Republicans would hire a firm to install the new bulb total cost $485,000

In either situation, neither party would really help.

Democrats would explain that I am just a victim of society, it's the light bulb's fault, not mine, and perhaps I should receive reparations. Jesse Jackson would be there to fight for my rights and the ACLU would provide my defense, Cindy Sheehan could go on a hunger strike, and perhaps Al Gore could come explain how the light bulb was evil anyway and contributed to global warming.

The republicans would pass a resolution in congress, but Bush would veto it, then a non partisan committee would be assembled to decide whether we should go to war over it even though the UN was against it, and in the end, they would just throw money at the problem but not really fix it.

So I guess I would either call a libertarian or better yet...just do it my own self.

Use a Libertarian. It will cost less, be done quicker and be done right the first time. The Libertarian will probably tell you that you forgot to turn on the switch, thus saving every one a lot of time and money. And, the lights will work

Republican must do it. Democrats don't believe in work.

If you want something done right, do it yourself. Neither, they would both be excused.
