humor reaction such as a burst of laughter is basically like a sneeze. it is a pressure of serious thoughts that we encounter bring our minds on the brink of madness. when something happens that is a sudden change from the norm. our mind releases the pressure and out pours laughter. as does dust form in the nasal passages and we take a breath of air forcing the dust to quickly become agitated results sneezing.

That is a very broad question, in reality, an individuals sense of humor stems from their upbringing and their education. Depending on how someone was raised, the concept of "What is funny" can change drastically from person to person. People find different things funny for different reasons, which can be any combination of reactions from seeing something as "Funny Ha Ha" to "Funny ridiculous" and sometimes, we as humans just have to laugh at the sheer absurdity of things.

To laugh often and much, to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether it's by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know that one life breathed easier because you have lived...is to have succeeded

I think this is a double question. Why do we laugh ? (emotion)
And: What do we find funny and why?

I think the first answer is : to relieve stress and survive (or live longer). The second answer: It depends on our personality what we find funny and there are certainly different kinds of humor.

where humour is concerned, there's definitely a gender divide.wen women find something funny, there is a increased activity in the reward centre[an area of brain rich in dopamine, which is released wen we laugh] but if something isn't funny, activity in the reward centre remains stable .by contrast, activity in the reward centre of men is stable wen the something is amusing and declined in response to unfunny things.
thank you
