I drop the paper, surely the baby is the meaning of life.

I believe there's no great "meaning of life" the way people make it out to be. I believe we're here because God wanted someone to share His love with. So quite frankly, If I were standing on the edge of the cliff with the baby in one hand and the paper in the other, I'd throw the paper over the cliff anyway.

Of course, This is subject to personal belief, but that's what the question asks for. ;-)

the meaning of life written on paper (that you have not yet read)?? that sounds so fishy to me that i would not consider it very important and i would never risk much for that. if it were somethiing really important, like some scientific breakthrough, ( like a formula for cancer cure), i would stick it in my mouth or just hold it while climbing, BECAUSE :

i sure would instinctively try to THROW THE BABY the other way - throw it as far as i can ON SAFE LAND and that would be the first thing i would do. then, i would try to climb back to safety and i think that instinctively i would hold the paper squeezed in my hand even if it were a used train ticket. if the document is too large and very important i would either put in mouth or hold it with the baby.

to be honest, if i had to choose between saving my life by dropping the baby and having both of us fall down, then i admit that i would drop the baby to save my life, yes i would

what does it say of my personality then??

I will take hold of the paper and leave the baby on the cliff as i think sumbody can save the child n give it a new life as 4 me i think death is inevitable n it will happen when it is supposed to n i don't want 2 hold the hand of the child n risk its life.

PS Do lemme know abt my personality.

Well... I would try to "toss" the baby back on to the cliff... now here is why... Personally my right hand/arm is stronger than my left... so if I held onto the baby, my right arm would be tied up... also if I held onto the baby... that would be more weight for me to hold up as I am dangling on the edge of the cliff.

Knowing myself, I would probably find myself crumbling along with the cliff while trying to decide.

But I would otherwise let go of the paper, and decide that the meaning for me is to save this baby.

The meaning of life is to procreate - you will have already done that (hence the baby) so the piece of paper has to go.

Would it be safe to hold onto the cliff with just one hand? Surely throw the bay to saftey (better than falling off a cliff) & grab hold with both hands. Or just step back.

Do I analyse things too much? :-)

The meaning of life is more likely to be written in the babies smile than on some piece of paper. So save the baby.

If you're stood on the edge of the cliff before it started to crumble, wouldn't you walk away when it was crumbling, keeping the paper and the baby?

You would be holding the meaning of life in both hands. Save the baby and know the answer.
