It would be disengenuous to buy a gift for someone unless you wanted to do so. If there's something you want her to have, buy it. Otherwise, just wish her a happy birthday.
By the way, might be better to describe her as just "your boss" or a human being instead of a lesbian, or being pregnant. It's seems like you really don't like her all that much by the way you described her.

A card, or nothing. You don't owe her a gift because she's your boss, pregnant,or a lesbian. If you think she doesn't like you, don't engraciate yourself to her. That will only let her know you think about it, and thus give her a leg up. A simple tasteful(no jokes) card is enough.

Take away the fact she's a lesbian and that you think she doesn't like you and get a gift just because you want to. Who knows, she may come around.........

I always give a plant or some flowers to any female that I don't like and have to give a gift for.
Its the safest..
I also give flowers or a plant to the people I care for...
Seems to cover all angles and all messages...

Why are you getting something at all? I mean if you are going to get her something get her a gift certificate or something like that. I personally would not get her anything, doesn't seem like you are getting it because you want to seems like you are getting it because you feel obligated.

If you feel you need to get her something, I would suggest flowers. A small bouquet of pink carnations with babies breath.(optional)
Don't go overboard in spending, it isn't cool.
