Put on weight. If your naturally skinny buy kids clothes.

I'm a UK size 8 with a skinny waist but short(ish) legs and I have similar trouble - especially as UK trousers always seem to be put together for fat-waisted giraffes... I've found that continental shops, especially French ones, tend to make their trousers differently from the UK - often they'll fit better around the waist and hips, especailly if you're a small size. So try shops like H&M whose roots aren't in the UK.

Just a thought, call the shops you're going to, 'let your fingers do the walking' then get them to reserve the jeans for you so you don't waste loads of time traipsing about when there's no point.

Try Marks and Spencers. I know they're a bit thin on street cred, but their range has SERIOUSLY improved over the last 18 months and they can order pretty much anything in any size or length. I am currently living in a pair of jeans from them, and they are sooo comfy. Next aren't bad, they can also order stuff in for you. Or, like someone else suggested, go online, that way you can see if it's available rather than going out and getting disappointed. I had a friend who was a small size 6, and she could sometimes get away with buying kids' clothes, though when you've got hips that can be an issue as they don't always fit.

BTW, you must have a very elegant figure if you need a 6, 34". Don't get too skinny though!

shop online instead. I have a difficult time finding my size as well at the stores, but always get what I want when I order it online. Good luck!

I ain't being rude but try to loose a little bit of weight so that you can find your jeans, because if you don't then you wll struggle for the rest of your life trying to find jeans to fit you.(i was not being rude, but it will help cause you don't wanna struggle)
