It is unfortunate that our "first impression" is someones' looks...but that is a natural response and impulse. Animals are also attracted to another animals' looks. Hence: the male peacock...with all those beautiful tail feathers. Just one example of bodily attributes to make an impression. We all have different ideas as to what is attractive...but many times we take that idea and refuse to look at other attributes such as personality and intelligence. Sometimes after getting to "know" someone better....you find that that person is more attractive to you. That is why you should always "look beyond" first impression or appearances..........When all is said and done, though.....it is what is in the heart and mind that really count.

Looks do not truely matter in life, it is what a person acts like and how they treat others is what really matters. If you are a good person at heart then you are a beautiful person and never let anyone else tell you otherwise. Remember everyone is beautiful in his or her own unique way.

Well I'd be lying if I said looks dont help get attention or popularity but I would say that you should like you for yourself. Don't change yourself for others happiness but your own. So what I'm really trying to say is that as long as you like yourself looks don't matter. But don't go around looking like a slob if you want people to notice you and talk to you possibly liking you. But the advice is there to help you.

Most people will try to tell you that is doesn't. It really shouldn't, but you have to ask yourself, why wouldn't it. Looks is the first noticeable thing about a person. Then you get to know them and see what is in their hearts. Now to only date or be nice to a person based on looks is shallow. But to want a nice kind hearted person who isn't bad looking isn't a lot to ask for.

I saw a recent TV programme that asked the same question. They used babies in their studies and they wanted to know if babies would take notice of 'attractive' people. One boy and one girl was placed in front of a TV screen and images of people (women for the boy and men for the girl) were run through it and they were recording the reactions of each child.
The results were that the babies who looked at the nicer looking people were looking at them for a longer time. They also concluded that the children and ALL of us have it in us when we are born. It is a part of our 'make up' and we look unconsciously for good looks (more so for women) as we want the 'good genes' to pass on to our off spring.
So in a nut shell....... YES looks do matter.
Hope I helped.

Me personally i think looks don't matter,
it's whats inside that matters.
But looks still play a big part.
People normally go on looks because it's the first thing they see.
Ever heard the saying (looks are deceiving)

They do to some people, and it depends on the context. You can't find an answer to such a general question like that. Hygiene matters to most people though.

I prefer a good looking boyfriend to someone who is not that attractive. Bald, fat and old? Please no.
But even though I am not a bad looking person, confidence is far more important. I had a hard time getting jobs because most of the time I wasn't very good at presenting myself to strangers.

FOR SOME PEOPLE IT MATTERS - BUT I BELIEVE A PERSONS PERSONALITY MATTERS MORE. WHAT IS IN THE INSIDE MAKES A PERSON BEAUTIFUL OR NOT, NOT LOOKS.
