Yeah your right on this one. even if the yankees surge and start winning consistently, they won't pass the white sox for the wildcard. They will just catch the red sox and then the red sox will be a few games out.
And from a statistical standpoint it gets worse. The white sox and tigers are numeros uno and dos in all of baseball right now. So lest face it. The wild card usually always comes out of the al east but not this year. This year either the yanks or the red ones are going home.

Well Georgie, I'm one of those people who are foolish enough to think the Wild Card will come from the AL East. The way I see it:
AL East - New York
AL Central - Chicago
AL West - Oakland
Wild Card - Boston
It would either take a collapse on the part of the Tigers or some great play on the part of the AL East teams. And I think it will come down to the latter. Detroit has proven they are legit, and I think they will still play some good baseball. But I tend to think Boston and NY will play some lights out baseball in the second half and just squeak by. Believe me, I'm hoping that's not the case. I'd be very happy to see the Yanks sitting at home this fall.

I don't think the Tigers are going to have the legs to go the whole way in the Central and will end up the Wild Card. I wouldn't count out the Yanks though. They have the experience to make a run and if they do the Wild Card will either be them or the Red Sox with the other winning the East.

I see the American League Wild Card being either the Chicago White Sox or the Detroit Tigers but I do see both the Tigers and the White Sox both in the post seaons and one team will be the AL Central Division Champions and the other team the Wild Card.

I think the Tigers take the Central and the White Sox the wild card...I'm an Indians fan but they won't catch up now....too far back and too many teams to pass up. Also, I hope the Red Sox win the East and the Yankees stay home.

Chicago White Sox will win the AL Wild Card, and the Detroit Tigers will win that division. Red Sox win east, Angels win west.

I am thinking Chicago will win out in the central, and Detroit will take the wild card, unless the Indians get back on track. A team from the East winning the wild card spot would be like K.C. improving to the second worst record in baseball, its not going to happen.

I agree. The Yankees are way overrated. The Tigers and White Sox are both definately in the playoffs. As for who will be the division winner and who will be the wild card winner, thats a toss up.

Sorry, I'm sticking with my wild card pick...the Yankees...and no matter what you say Georgie...I will always be a Yankee fan and if you don't like it...I don't care...because I don't like the team you like, but I will stick with what I have always said, I have nothing against the fans of the Tigers, Red Sox, White Sox, Cubs, Phillies, Mets, or whatever team other people cheer for...oh my goodness...look at that...a Yankee Fan can name some other teams...who would have thought!! Not you!! Grow up!!

The way I see it is;
ALC: Detroit
ALE: Boston
ALW: Texas
WC: Yankees
Pennant: Detroit
I think Detroit is unstoppable, they're going all the way. I don't think the White Sox can keep it up, their dynamic is too volatile.
I KNOW you have both Yankees & Red Sox, but I still think they'll both make post season, but the Tigers are the winners.
