You may think this question is hard but actually it just wants to trick you. The 7 people with the 7 cats with the 7 mice with the 7 cheese are all just a distraction and your main problem. Those effect the mind due to the irrasionality of the mind to try to interpret all of it as the question. The real question is "How many people are heading to 'his' house?" At the start of the question it reads 'Athere is 'a' man walking 'home'." this concudes my answer which is one. This question tests your logic, not your capability in multiplying and adding.

There are several different answers to this question, and it all depends on your assumptions. First possible answer is yes, one. As they could be heading to different destinations on the same road. Second answer is the sum of all the men, cheeses, ants, whatever, that were headed in that direction, based on the assumption that they are all going to the same place. Third possible answer is eight. The one man talking and the 7 other men he met. It states that he meets 7 men with cats, cheeses, etc. It does not say they are present.
I guess the point being that the answers to these types of questions depend on your assumptions of what is NOT written.

Reading over the other answers, I realise how incredibly stupid and lazy people are. The url has a period at the end; just delete it and the link will work. Gosh.
