Mars WAS unusually close to Earth on August 27, 2003, that fake E-mail that has been going around did not even get the year right. But without a telescope it just looked like a bright star. Mars never ever looks as big as the Moon.

Well, Mars is always bigger than the moon. However, it is much farther away from us than the moon is, so it always looks smaller than the moon to us on Earth. Mars *never* gets close enough to rival the apparent size of the moon; it always looks like a little red dot in the sky.

LOL!!! Where did you hear that? I think Jupiter is suck us all in. All the little planets will become moons of Jupiter. :)

Planets JUST DO NOT CHANGE SIZES.
They might seem to get bigger and smaller but that is just an appearance.
