Clear-minded would indicate a mind free of clutter or distraction- focus and concentration. Open-minded indicates the ability to consider other opinions and points of view other than your own, and not discarding an idea or person just because you disagree.

The distinction between the two is rather simple. A clear-minded person has a complete understanding of a subject and can deal with it very precisely. An open-minded person is one that is willing to accept new ideas for his fair-consideration.

Open minded is like you are open to all opinion's and have a say for everything.

I think clear-minded is that a person thoughts are good and does not see the bad only sees the good

Clear minded means easily perceiving or understanding and idea or ideas.
Open minded means willing to consider new ideas or being unprejudiced.

So someone who is clear minded about an issue could also not be open minded, if they are not willing to accept new ideas.
And someone that is open minded could not be clear minded if they do not fully understand.

I hope this makes you clear minded on this issue.

No, clear-minded and open-minded are not similar, but one does depend, to an extent, on the other. To have a clear mind means that one's conscious mind and sub-conscious mind are free from neuroses or neurotic tendencies. To be open-minded means that one takes all possible points of view into consideration before making a decision. Or it means to be free from prejudicial thinking. The reason I said that one depends upon the other is that in order to be truly open-minded, one must first, I would think, be clear-minded. In other words, it would be very hard for someone suffering from all kinds of hangups to truly be non-prejudicial in his/her thinking.

clear minded is not thinking of anything; concentrating well; medating ect.. open minded is being able to take anything on board, listening to what others have to say, being open to change and new ideas. You can be clear minded but not open minded and vice versa. You can also be both

being open-minded means you are open to ideas... It's either you accept them or reject them but you see to it that you got somebody else's point. Clear-minded would refer to a person who accepts ideas often because everything would mean "clear"... I don't know if my answer helps but this is how I see it...
