How do you clean off old photos ?

Seems you are not the only one with this question. Here are some answers from other folks. And then there is this cool little product called "Googlies" (2nd link), though I assume that any microfibre type cleaning cloth (like for cleaning glasses) might also work. Good luck.

I had some old black & white pictures that I cleaned with a rag moistened with warm water. I just wiped them off and laid them flat on the kitchen table to dry.

The moisture only removed the dirt. The pictures look fine.
