the whole universe is like an equation
things balance out that make our world possible.
but yet in space, the rules kind of bend a little
and yet the equation is not balance
the universe is not the ultimate motion machine because there is more than just a universe. And energy is not the only thing that can make the motion continue. There are other elements too.

Technically, there can be no such a thing as a true perpetual motion machine.

But I believe that the universe, as an aggregate whole, is about the closest possible physical approximation to a perpetual motion machine that nature can achieve.

If the expansion of the universe continues, the tendency to entropy will eventually assert itself.

At some far distant time, ever the bonds that hold the quarks into protons will dissipate.
