I live in the United States and love my country. However, I find it to be a bit bland at times, and I often disagree with assertions that many of my fellow citizens make regarding how the U.S. is the best in the world. (I think that most people would think that theirs is the best, so I'm not faulting them.)

What I really like is Canada. It has a far more interesting political system with actually political parties. It has a lot of the trappings of the British system of peerage, but it's a egalitarian society. The cultural diversity between the provinces is also quite nice.

Canada isn't perfect. It's healthcare system, while very good on the basic stuff, suffers in specialty medicine. Plus there is the whole issue of possible Quebec sovereignty. Nevertheless, if I had to leave the U.S. to live elsewhere, Canada would be my destination.

Okay I got the bomb answer for you, forget all those other answers, this is the ultimate country to go to visit, and live in peaceful bliss. You ready for this? Costa Rica, yes, you read right Costa Rica, its paradise, not saying this cuz my parents are from there, but every other person I know that went there, (none Costa Ricans), told me they didn't want to come back to the United States after visiting for the first time. Why Costa Rica, because it's paradise, heaven on Earth, the people are soooo friendly, they feed you til you can't get fed no more, so many activities to do, just a gorgeous country, you feel so warm and safe, and loved there, hell I might go move there in my golden years. And think about it, everytime you look at world news always some crap going on in a different country but you hardly ever hear anything bad going on in Costa Rica, why, cuz Costa Ricans are friendly, and the crime is practically non existent, they don't even have an military force, because they don't need it. Don't get it twisted, not because they can't afford it, but again because they don't need it. I'm telling you if you've never been, before you check out on life, make it point to go to Costa Rica at least once, I"m telling you it's all that and a bag of cantalopes, trust me ;-) PURA VIDA!!!!

Europe isn't a country.

My favorite is the United States of America...it's where I live. Second favorite is Canada...it's where I grew up. After that, I don't know. I've only been to Mexico and Belize otherwise. I've never been to New Zealand. My wife says it is a wonderful country. If I ever visit there, I may have to change my answer.

Japan.

I love the culture, I love the clothes, I love the food, I love the language, I love the cars, I love the people, I love the music. There's a few houses I love too. The tatami rooms are beautiful, and so are the sakura (cherry blossoms)! The bathrooms are a bit different and and take getting used to, but very cool in their own way. Th bathtubs actually keep the water hot! I wish the bathtubs in America did that.

USA because you can go for thousands of miles without ever having to show ID or stop for border checks. You are free to go whereever your wallet and transportation can take you. You are free to talk to anyone, write anything, worship as you like, or not at all.

You can visit extreme weather conditions or ideal weather conditions; see monumental natural features (such as Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Everglades, Death Valley, Denali, etc.); see wonderful man-made phenonmenon (Sears Towers, Frank Lloyd Wright buildings, National Art Gallery, Smithsonian museums, Cape Canaveral, etc.).

Canada.
I was born here and then worked in more than a dozen countries.
I returned and will remain here.

Canada is blessed with the best of the world and a lot of tolerance. From same-sex marriage to multiculturalism, from a low crime rate to universal health care - we have it good here.
