you burn out the clutch, by revving tooo much and holding the clutch half way down

Thats called riding the clutch. When u push in the clutch to shift gears, u are suposed to let completely off the gas pedal. If u push the clutch while pushing some on the gas, that will cause the clutch to burn.

It's called 'riding the clutch'. The clutch burns when it is not engaged fully when at a stop or upon acceleration - don't rev up the engine when the clutch is partially engaged.

Maybe breaking with the clutch? I've heard that happen when people use the clutch to slow down, rather than the brake.

pulling off in third with massive revvs usually does it for me, does no good to the car whatsoever though. Its basicly when the two clutch plates rub loads causing massive friction heat and start to smell like burning

You're holding in the clutch too long when your starting out in first gear.
