I went to the gmail site but it only provides the facility to only a few countries

hi...creating a gmail account is easy...just go to this site http://mail.google.com and register yourself as new user..u should be able to create an account...which country do you live in? if its service is not availabe in ur country try registering by a country near you..and if still you find a prob.just send me a your email id,i will send you an invite from gmail

Google accounts are obtained by the present users of Gmail. So you have to be invited by a GMail User for using and owning a GMail Account.
As only through invitees, GMail id can be obtained.

gmail is by invite only. You must be invited by someone who already has a Gmail account. I have several different email accounts, and have found absolutely no advantage to having gmail as opposed to yahoo mail. I personally like the fact that my yahoo mail loads faster and has an easier to read interface.
Btw don't post your email address here to get an invite, just ask your friends and am sure one of them has a gmail account.

U hv two options to sign up with gmail.
First thru ur mobile phone.
Second, u r invited by someone to sign up for gmail who is already holding a gmail account. Now choice is urs.

You must receive an invite to join Gmail from an existing user to your old email account.

If I remember correctly gmail accounts are through invitation. Possibly might have changed...
