The best jewelry cleaner I use is called Connoisseurs. They have a cleaner just for Silver jewelry. It's even recommend by Good Housekeeping. It is available at Kmart, Walmart, Rite Aid, or www.connoisseurs.com. It makes your jewelry just sparkle! Almost all Silver (and White Gold) has a Rhodium Plating over it, which from time to time needs to be re-plated. It costs around $15 - $35. So, if you clean it and it is still dingy, have your jeweler re-rhodium it. Also, toothpaste is best used on un-plated Silver jewelry, as it can wear off the rhodium faster.

silvo, or tamrind or lemon. Or boil them in washing soda solution. You can prevent it by putting a coating of clear lac on silver & brass items

If you are based in India, good for you. Use Colgate toothpaste to clean it. Works best.
