I just came off a 10 day fast where I drank only water and ate nothing. THe first 2 days sucked but overall it was a great way to detox my system, and it gave me lots of energy. I guess the only thing I didn't think about before I started was this: What do I eat first? This fast was not a weight-loss plan (I only lost 2 pounds anyway) but I still DON'T want to gain weight when I start eating. What's the best thing to start back with? Should I go the next week on vegetables or something? I just don't want to gain weight because my weight is ideal for me right now.

Some of you need the read the entire question!!! I am not thinking about doing this - I already did it!! I am NOT overweight, and I did NOT fast for weight loss - it was for detoxing and also spiritual reasons.

The real key to losing weight and keeping it off is behavior modification. So I hope you don't plan after a 10-day water fast, and another few days to dive right back into whatever got you so overweight.
In other words you may need to find a good dietitian, health food, or otherwise and when it comes right down to it they say "portion size" is the key.
Eventually you will end up eating out with a friend or being served a normal plate of food somewhere, and knowing instinctual (or learned) when to stop eating is the best. Not when the food on the plate is gone or you are REALLY full, but before.
There is also some truth to "you are what you eat" so learn nutrition facts and watch what you eat... make it count.
Try Jamba Juice smoothies, they can be meal nourishing replacement for weight maintenance or supplements for people gaining weight intentionally, like me.

I've done long fasts for detox, and as you say, you do feel great and it is NOT a weight loss plan. I used it to gain weight, actually. However, to your question, concentrate on simple nourishment to start... A cup or so of tomato soup is good to start. An hour or so later, a salad with olive oil and vinegar is a good follow up. Then phase into a good healthy diet, gently. Your digestive system is slow and "creaky" now, and should be treated gently for a couple of days. You should be back to normal is three days or so.

Make sure you take some acidopholisis to replace friendly bacteria. Go slow, very slow on solids and dairy products. Vegetables, when you are ready to start back eating them should be CHEWED almost to a liquid before swallowing. Gradually build back up to meat products unless you are going vegeterian. Also replace eletrolytes, with products like Gatorade, Recharge.

You need to see a doctor.
No one should ever go on a 10 day water fast (unless you are really trying to remove heavy drugs from your system or something serious).
Eat plently of fruit and vegs.

oh dear. Please tell me you did this under a doctor's supervision.
The best thing to eat after a fast is steamed vegetables. What would you eat after being ill? Beef broth is good, anything plain. And if you experience dizziness or light-headedness, STOP the fast ASAP and see your doctor!!

This may sound silly, but you might want to start w/ baby food. You've gone so long without solids it may be a shock( you might throw up. Or you could try vegetable soups.
