Short answer - yes. Assuming you mean for recreational/ bodybuilding purposes.

Various steroids are prescribed for a number of ailments - there are usually side effects.

The body naturally produces it's own steroid hormones, which is obviously not bad for the health if the body is working properly.

some kind of steroids help with swelling and pain of arthritus, but they cant give it more than 3 times a year because it will cause trouble, if you take anabolic steroids to bulk up you can dammage many organs, and cause brain cancer, inhaled steroids help with athsma. so there is not a flat yes or no, its all a matter of what your health is to start.

Yes, but it depends on what type of steroids you're talking about.

Corticosteroids are often used as immunosuppressants and affects virtually all of the immune system. It can therefore be used in autoimmune diseases, inflammatory diseases (such as asthma, severe poison ivy, and Crohn's disease), various kidney diseases including nephrotic syndrome, and to prevent and treat rejection in organ transplantation.

Obviously, these have health benefits for the patient, but the side effects can be terrible. Short-term side effects include high blood glucose levels, especially in patients who already have diabetes mellitus or are on other medications that increase blood glucose (such as tacrolimus), and mineralocorticoid effects such as fluid retention. Additional short-term side effects include insomnia and rarely mania. Long-term side effects include Cushing's syndrome, weight gain, osteoporosis, glaucoma, type II diabetes mellitus, and depression upon withdrawal.

Other major side effects include: depression, mania, or other psychiatric symptoms; unusual fatigue or weakness; blurred vision; abdominal pain; peptic ulcer; infections; painful hips or shoulders; osteoporosis.

So yes, steroids are pretty dangerous.

most steriods are OK, but if you use them for muscle mass, then you have to consider this, When you see a man who is the size of a house, watch his muscles as he is walking, they look like jello and wobble alot, this is the water that is retained from taking steroids, you do not have muscle you have water retention, that makes you look like you have muscles
