Do not try to make him sit up. Kids are best kept on the floor, where they learn to sit up,roll around and crawl without hurting themselves.Take him out as often as possible so he can see what other kids are doing and watch what is happening around him.If kept in cots and pens and strollers all the time, kids are less likely to become more active.Put them on the ground or floor as much as possible, but make sure there is nothing lying about that may endanger them when they start crawling.
Some kids never really do much crawling and stuff. They just wait until they can stand, then suddenly start running about everywhere.Let them develop at their own speed. They all usually do.

The normal age range for a baby to start sitting up is bewteen 6-8 months. some babies may do so later. There may be various reasons why your baby hasn't started to sit up yet, the best thing for you to do is to see a paediatrics physiotherapist. That is a physiotherapist who specializes in babies and children. You will need a full assessment, which would include a history of your preganancy, the labour and delivery, your baby's development so far. Without a thorough assessment, it would be inappropriate to suggest what types of exercises/positions to play would help to stimulate your baby's normal development. It is also important to have a paediatrician (doctor who specializes in babies and children) to assess your baby, who will refer you to a developmental paediatrician ( a doctor who is a paediatrician who specializes in child development)if necessary.

Don't worry - all babies do this at different stages and don't feel pressured.
My baby is 8months and has been sitting for a few weeks but still wobbles over a lot!
We used a Bumbo seat for him from when he was about 4 months and this MAY have helped but don't worry - when he's crawling then walking you'll wish he was still lying still!!

Practice makes perfect. If he hasn't had the opportunity to sit then his muscles won't be strong enough. My daughter has always been very strong for her age but she didn't crawl until she was almost nine months old because she didn't like to be put down. Once she wanted to be put down she learned withing a couple of days. It just depends on the baby and how much they want to be held.

My niece is also 8 months and she does not know how to sit . But she was born prematurely. Anyway , I think you need to train him, seat him up and support him with a bridle or two cushions on both his sides. and yeah play with him on the floor

Wait until he is ready. That's usually the best solution to most problems with babies... Average age to sit unsupported is 5-9 months, so he isn't even late yet.

sit him in your lap or on the floor where u are sitting and gently grab his arms and tug on him to pull him up
also workout his legs a little. u know help develop his muscles.he will only do it on his own though.kids develop at different stages so dont worry if he hasnt reached that milestone yet. if the pediatrician says not to worry then dont.

have you ever heard of a baby boppy pillow, it's for babies and when there little they can lay on them to get tummy time and when there older you can use them to help your infant sit up and when your breast feeding you can use them for the baby to lay on while your breast feeding to say your other arm, they look like travel neck pillows only really bigger.
