When I try to send a photo it gets returned with a message saying that the file is too big.

If you are trying to send a Photo, save it as JPEG,
You can do this by Opening the photo in Microsoft Paint, File > Save As > Then Under the name you call the photo, there is "Save as type:.......Scroll through the drop down menu and choose JPEG(*JPG;*JPEG;*JPE;*JFIF)

~~ either reduce the size of the photo, or put it in a zip file... if it is still too big try G-mail you can make much bigger attachments through g-mail than yahoo mail
the easiest way to reduce the size of a photo is to open the photo in paint, located start, programs accessories, paint... (it comes with windows, click on image, click on stretch skew, the larger the number the less the reduction, so try reducing it by 50% in vertical and horizontal and go to save as in the file menu, and save the picture under another name to preserve your original...

You need to reduce the size or resolution of the image. I use PhotoShop on a Mac but I'm guessing you use PaintShop Pro on a PC, right?

Make the file smaller then!!
Can't remember off hand but I think files have to be smaller than 10meg
