i personally believe we are here to somehow influence the life of at least one person in our lifetime. we may not know who that person will be, but i believe it will happen. i hope the following story clarifies my point a little.
One day a young man was walking to school. He was popular, handsome and intelligent. He was also a nice person.( i`ll call him Ben) He saw another guy who was new to the school. The new guy was carrying a lot of heavy books, his bag was also full and heavy. Some of the nastier guys were pushing him over and trying to break his glasses. (i`ll call him Callum) Ben rushed over to Callum, yelling at the nastier boys. They ran off and Ben helped Callum to his feet. Callum and Ben got chatting and Callum helped Ben put his books in his locker. The next day, Ben saw Callum walking to school, again carrying a heavy load of books. Again they got chatting and Ben helped Callum carry his books.
As the years went on, Callum and Ben became firm friends. They did everything together and shared each others lives. The day to leave High school came, and Callum was asked to make a speech to the school, summarising his time there. What Callum said made a profound impact.
"When i first joined this school, i was in a very dark place. I felt there was no way out, and i was going to kill myself. I was carrying all my school books, because i didn`t want my Mum to have to clear out my Locker. Then i met Ben. Ben showed me that there are good, kind people out there. Ben, you saved my life. Thankyou."

to learn, to grow, to help improve life in general for others as well as ourselves. Although we are all different, I believe we are here to not only evolve ourselves to be better than what we are, we are also here to help others do the same for themselves. I believe that we're all on the path to create a utopian type of world or at least to help assist it along it's path so that one day it may perhaps exist for our ascendants. On the other hand, none of us seem to know exactly what we're doing or sometimes why we're doing it, otherwise we'd all have a single answer for this question after all these thousands of years. So maybe the answer in essence is just that we're a fluke, a marvelous fluke, but a fluke none the less. What do you think?

This is by far the best and most intelligent question i have come across on yahoo, and the answer to this question can not be given in here.
The purpose of human existence is fundamentally spiritual: to develop our spiritual and intellectual potentiality by coming to know and worship God and thus contribute to an ever advancing civilization.
I can direct you to sites where you can investigate for yourself and i am sure you will love what you find

perhaps the accomplishment you speak of is in fact to answer that question, and I believe that all the worlds religions have some truth to them, the biggest problem is the language, it changes so often that the translations of the worlds most historic and greatest figures are no longer even reliable, it's a guarantee that even people who are reading this don't quite understand my meaning, in other words I don't know

Existance has no meaning, we give it meaning just by existing. However, some people are so desperate for finding rateher than creating their own reason for existance that they search it in the supernatural.
Thats how i see it.

existance has no secret, existance is the state of being. it is a catagory error to ask why people exist, because this question presupposes existing people to ask it.
as to people who say god is the reason for life, isnt that rater selfish? if god created all things why would they all be driven by the goal of loving him?
